The Fit India Movement is a national initiative launched by the Government of India to encourage people to incorporate physical activity and sports into their daily lives. It aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and combat the rising prevalence of lifestyle diseases.
The campaign has a "Fitness Pledge" that reads
I promise to myself that I will devote time for physical activity and sports every day and I will encourage my family members and neighbours to be physically fit and make India a fit nation.
Keeping up with the ‘Ek Bharat –Shreshtha Bharat’ program, our school has undertaken the following activities during the Fitness Week Celebration:
- Yoga for all
- Activities on fitness and nutrition for students and staff
- Assembly – Free hands exercise for all
- Fitness assessment of students
- Poster –making competition-
- Physical activities for students including –dance, aerobics, yoga, martial arts, gardening, etc.
- Essay / poem writing competition for students
