PRIMARY SCHOOL (GRADES – III TO V)
- Grades: III to V- English, Hindi, Mathematics, Environmental Science and Computer Science.
- Grade: V- III Languages: Sanskrit, German & French.
OVERVIEW:
The Primary stage of education is immensely important for every child, as it is here that the foundations of literacy, numeric reflection and thinking skills are laid down for the future. At G D Goenka, we aim to nurture skilled, confident children who are inquirers both within the classroom and in the world beyond. We address every facet of their existence – social, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual – in addition to academics.
The course has been devised keeping in mind the best research and practice across a whole range of national/ international systems. To facilitate the best development in every child we keep our class sizes manageable and student teacher ratio healthy. Students work in ever-changing groups to encourage learning from each other as well as allowing children to process other opinions and to develop listening skills & critical thinking abilities. This does not limit their learning to the teacher’s ability alone but encourages “out of the box” thinking as that is a skill required by students in the future.
ASSESSMENT:
- A range of assessment techniques are used in our primary school to evaluate pupils’ understanding and progress.
- To measure understanding and knowledge, we use conventional tests, exams, and quizzes.
- We also place a strong emphasis on project-based examinations, where students use original and useful applications to demonstrate their knowledge.
- Regular class involvement, discussions, and presentations enhance communication skills and allow for oral evaluation.
- Homework and other formative evaluations, such as projects for class, offer continuous feedback to direct learning.
- For the purpose of fostering cooperation and teamwork, we also use peer reviews and group projects.
- The various assessment techniques aim to identify each student’s assets and promote a comprehensive assessment of their development and performance in the classroom.

PROJECT BASED LEARNING
If we accept that every kid has a unique set of "intelligences," it would make sense to let them work on specific projects to hone their various skills.
Languages and mathematics can be taught using this method almost as easily as so-called practical topics. In the primary wing, we emphasise learning activities in which children spend a significant amount of time investigating and responding to a real-world topic, challenge, or problem.
METHODOLOGY AND LEARNING STYLE
The capacity to sort through the data and draw our own conclusions is an essential characteristic in a time when we are continuously inundated with information and misinformation. The Goenkan educational philosophy promotes the growth of this ability, not only because it is required by the CBSE curriculum but also because it may be necessary for survival.
LEARNING TO LEARN
The goal of G D GOENKA is to develop students that are highly motivated, eloquent, and possess the abilities needed for independent study. Teachers who are also passionate about education motivate young people to become lifelong learners.
ANYWHERE- ANYTIME LEARNING
Students are aware from the very beginning that learning can and should be done "Anywhere-Anytime" because the campus is designed with them in mind, and everyone has access to IT and other technical support.
