As we know, the conventional rote system of learning would not equip children with skills and abilities for the dawn of a new age of information.
We believe that children learn best when they are given a choice and voice within an emotionally safe environment. They blossom when they are nurtured by those who have their best interests at heart and use evidence-based teaching-learning strategies.
Education at GDGPS is an integrated process with a flexible curriculum that takes into account the heterogeneity of the learner and learning styles. Emphasis is laid on acquiring linguistic & logical ability by adopting innovative methods to stimulate interest and attention among the students. This opens up pathways to holistic and harmonious development of the young learners. We are following ‘Seed To Plant’ which is harmoniously integrated through all the subjects which gives the child hands-on experience to learn and enjoy the learning in a comfortable environment.
- The innovative curriculum for the Pre-Primary published by ‘Seed to Plant’ is in use to reinforce values, concepts, ideas, skills, and activities.
- The students are graded regularly based on participation and performance in class activities.
Areas of growth and development: Physical, Language, Personal, Emotional, Social, Intellectual/ Cognitive, Aesthetic Development, etc. - We have special assemblies and celebrations for their cultural development, confidence and speaking skills on stage.
- The outdoor and indoor activities give the students to dive into their favourite area of exploring their interest. The activities range from soccer, basketball, skating, to Dexter’s lab, Magic numbers and Talking Titans.
- Regular activities too are much sought after by the students as they enjoy Swimming, Yoga, Computers, Robotics, Art and Craft to hone their skills in these areas.
- Storytelling, picture reading, picture-story composition, rhymes, and learning of CVC words are some of the activities designed to develop the above-mentioned skills.
- Learning languages and number work primarily focus on the development of cognitive skills. Drawing and colouring, cutting and craft activities focus on the development of fine motor skills. Activities like Lawn Tennis, PT, Taekwondo, Skating predominantly focus on the development of gross motor skills. The curriculum in Class I and II is activity-based, which enhances the comprehension and thinking skills of the students.
- Assignment booklets have also been prepared to supplement the students’ learning and broaden their horizons. Visits to places are planned according to EVS topics. Evaluation is a general but continuous process.
